Critical Thinking

This week is about critical thinking and the Socratic problem-solving approach, which are important skillsets you will need to master in both your academic and professional life. Critical thinking involves the ability to identify a problem, analyze that problem or issue from multiple perspectives, identify and evaluate solutions to the problem, and then convince others of the value of your decision.

Join in the conversation! Here are some ideas to get you started. You can pick one of these, or post something else related:

• How does critical thinking play a pivotal role in healthcare decision-making? Can you share an example from your own experiences or studies where critical thinking was instrumental in identifying, analyzing, and resolving a healthcare issue?
• How did completing the first assessment contribute to the development of your critical thinking skills? Can you identify specific aspects of the assessment that challenged you to think critically and analyze information?
• How do you envision that honing your critical thinking skills will enable you to address the Four Spheres of Care in your profession? Can you provide specific examples or scenarios where critical thinking would be particularly crucial in ensuring comprehensive and effective care in each of these spheres?
