If the child does not receive his medication within 48 hours he could die as a result of respiratory problems. Detectives are questioning him at the police station. During the interrogation, Detective Bradley Jones did not wait for Smith to waive his rights under Miranda warnings. Detective Jones hits Smith several times on his head, face, chokes him until he tells Detective Bradley Jones that he did kidnap the child and left him at his apartment. A patrol officer arrived at the apartment, and finds the child alive but in a comma. The child remains on a ventilator while Smith awaits trial.
