Getting to Know You
Navigating an online classroom can feel intimidating, and it’s normal to experience some anxiety. You might wonder how to manage the online platform, whether your voice will be heard, or how to balance school with life, work, and family. These are common concerns for anyone returning to school.
The good news is that you are not alone! By getting to know your classmates and instructors, you can build a supportive network to help you reach your goals. At Walden, we offer a range of resources to support you throughout your journey, including Café Thrive, Writing Expectations, Health and Wellness services, and more. You’ll learn about these resources in this module and throughout the course.
This discussion is a great opportunity to start connecting with your peers and faculty. It will also help ensure you meet the U.S. Department of Education’s requirements for class participation during the first week. Please note that participation in this discussion is not a requirement, but lack of participation could result in reminder emails regarding your standing in the course. But instead of worrying about those emails, why not take a moment to introduce yourself, make new friends, and start building a community here?
